Frequently Asked Questions for Beginners

What should I wear to class?

Wear clothing appropriate for movement and closed toed shoes such as sneakers that are secured on your feet. No sandals, clogs, crocs. Layers are recommended as clogging is a cardio workout and you will work up a sweat.

Do I need clogging shoes? If so, where can I get some?

You do not need clogging or dance shoes for the start of class. If you have Tap or Jazz shoes, you can wear them. If not, sneakers will do. At the first class, we will explain all the options for beginner clogging shoes. Please wait to purchase anything until you attend class.

What should I bring to class?

Bring a water bottle. You will work up a thirst when clogging.

Do I need experience?

No prior dance experience is needed. We will teach you all you need to know in order to clog a beginner level dance.

Do I need a partner?

No partner is needed. Most of our dances are line dances.

What ages take the classes?

Persons of all ages 8+ are welcomed and encouraged to try clogging. Younger children should be accompanied by a parent or other adult that takes class with them. Clogging is a multi-generational and fun family activity. Many families clog together.

Do I have to perform?

No. We offer 3 types of memberships; General, Performance Team and Friendship. You can pick the type that best meets your interests. However, once you see how much fun we have performing, you may want to join us.

What happens after the 10-week beginner class?

You will have the option to continue your clogging journey for an additional 10 weeks by taking a beginner II class. Upon successful completion of both the beginner and beginner II classes, you will be eligible to join the club.
